My dip stick in my maxima has oil all the way to the tip is this normal?

i checked the level of oil in my car and the dip stick had oil all the way to the top i don't think this is normalMy dip stick in my maxima has oil all the way to the tip is this normal?
when you check your oil, make sure the engine has been off at least 5 minutes. when you remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and stick it again. check BOTH sides of the dipstick, if the level is high on both sides, past the area where the level is considered normal, you have to much oil, empty some out, or actually all of it and put 4 quarts back in.

If it's high on one side, but not another, you might have an oil bubble in the pan, no big deal. use the other side for your reading. My dip stick in my maxima has oil all the way to the tip is this normal?
It's only normal if you put in twice the maximum amount of oil. You need the excess drained real quick.
did u check the oil when the car was cold or when it was hot because if u checked it if u checked it hot is normal
NO!! it is bad.. it is to full drain the oil and fill it to the full level located on the dip stick. Either who ever changed your oil last over filled it or you have a leak that is coming into you oil.
Did you check the oil when the car was off, and parked on a level surface? Did you pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean, and then put it back in and pull it out to check the oil level?

If your engine is running, the oil can end up all over the dipstick. You need to clean the dipstick with a rag and then check the level.

If you are doing that and show oil up to the top of the stick, you have an extremely overfull crankcase.
you need an oil change, you have too much oil in there. Or maybe you just did'nt let the oil settle before checking it.
You have over filled it..... not good ...thanks : )
