I was wondering if the oil drain plug washer needs to be replace after each oil change and if there is a?

torque spec on a 2001 ACCURA?I was wondering if the oil drain plug washer needs to be replace after each oil change and if there is a?
The torque specs on drain nuts are the max torque you can apply to them without thread damage, its purpose is to keep out oil, its not a stressed bolt, and just need to be snug, you shoudlt even tighten it up to the torque spec you will likely damage the threads if you do it enough.

You dont need to replace the washer, unless its leaking, you can sue the same one over and over, untill it gets too squished and wont seal anymore.I was wondering if the oil drain plug washer needs to be replace after each oil change and if there is a?
For torque specs call the dealer, ask the counterman at the auto parts store, or even better, get a repair manual. Chilton or Haynes. Other wise, just tighten it just a bit. On the washer, did it ever leak? If so, then get a nylon or fiber replacement from the store. These may also be copper. But if it never leaked then keep reusing it.
no, only new washer or plug if its damaged . torque spec, ? just snug enough to stay in, DONT tighten to much, or you risk stripping the oil pan. 45 years of driving, and i always change my own oil, never had a problem except on a car that was taken to a shop and a jockey over tightened the plug and filter
it all depends on what type of washer it is.......i have found using a copper washer is best then followed by the nylon washers and lastly the felt washers, which in my opinionre just cr#p.

as for the torque, shouldn't need a torque wrench, just do up tight.

and if starts to strip, well thats too tight.
Yes, it is a good practice to replace the washer each time.

Only spec I saw on an Acura engine was 33ft/lbs on the drain plug. but I'd ask the dealer, myself.
It's 29 foot pounds for the Accura. A little less than the 33 other Hondas use. There's no need whatsoever to replace the washer.
No need at all to replace this unless of course if it's leaking.

Just make sure if your changing your oil yourself to not over tighten the plug.
nope, only if leaking
