What will likely happen if the oil drain plug is over tightened while changing oil?

what are the engine oils 4 main task

what are 5 safety precautions taken when changing oil

why must the oil fliter be hand-tightened only?

and what is the measurement of diameter of the threaded hole in the oil fliter????What will likely happen if the oil drain plug is over tightened while changing oil?
you'll strip the threads on the oil pan. What will likely happen if the oil drain plug is over tightened while changing oil?
if you over tighten the drain plug you will probably strip the threads and it will not tighten correctly again. oil leak...
If you over tighten the oil pan plug you might strip it out and then it will not tighten and it will leak. If this happens you can get an expansion plug froman auto parts store that will do the trick.
sounds to me like you are doing homework and should look up the answers yourself. If you don't leanr it your not going to be able to do your job, and I for one get my car screwed up because of you, you can better believe I will sue for damages. Take your time and do the work yourself. Good luck.
If it is overtightened, it could strip the threads but also it could shear the head off the nut when the engine heats up and there's no where for it to expand. Then you'll never get that plug out again without an extractor.
if you overtightened oil drain plug, you probably will strip the thread and resulting oil leak.

engine oil lubricates all moving parts inside the engine, breaks down heat build up, keeps engines cooler(at normal operating temp) and prolong engines life.

before changing oil, let the engine cool down ,park on level surface, parking break on, use jack stands, and use wheels blocks. hand tighten oil filter only because when time comes to take if off again you gonna need Hercules go get it off for you, if he's around. the diameter of the thread hole in the oil filter varies. Different makes of cars, different oil filter.
If you over tighten the drain plug, you might strip the threads.....

The engine oils main task is lubrication of all moving parts which prevents wear of all moving metal parts of the engine.

Only hand tighten the oil filter because it will be very hard to take it off if you tighten it with a tool. The threaded hole in the oil filter are many sizes.....3/4 and 5/8 and 2 sizes.
1. You won't be able to get it off next time.

2. lubrication

3. let the engine cool off or you might get burned

4. So you don't overtighten it.

5. They are not all the same. But mine looks about 5/8th.
Ask one question at a time.
I can tell you for a fact that the oil filter must only be hand tightened or else you will NEVER be able to get it off when its time. I know from personal experience because this happened to my husband the first time he did it to our car, and it took him forever to get it off. He said even an elephant couldn't get it off.
1 You may shear it or strip the threads.

2 use axle stands (Not only a Jack)

3 wait till it cools as hot oil can burn you.4

4 use a drip tray

5 dispose of old oil properly (Dont tip it down the drain)

1 Lubrication, 2 cooling, 3 wear prevention, 4 prevention of siezing up.

oil filter diameter, depends on size of engine/filter, %26amp; do you mean internal or external thread size?
your might have to use a cheat bar to get better leverage on the oil plug,if not you need an air tool to losen the bolt.
if you over tighten you will stip the threads and it will leak
as long as you don't strip the threads its ok

maybe give it 15 foot pounds or so, thats enough,

its 1/2 inch maybe
it may strip (really bad) or it will be so tight you cant get it off next time

oil tasks are lubrication, cooling cleaning and operation of hydralic component

oil change safety- oil is toxic, protect hands and environment. dont overfill, clean around oil fill and drain, use correct viscosity of oil

only hand tighten filer as it uses a rubber seal. to much tesnsion causes the seal to distend and under pressure blow out. plus if its too tight it will be impossible to get off

dunno, varies with makes and models.

why do i feel like i've just dont someones homework?
