What is the size of the oil drain plug on a 05 GMC truck?

05 GMC 5.3L engine my drain plug is starting to round off and the smallest socket that fits it is a 15mm but I know that one is too big, So im not really sure which one is the correct one. I think it would be the 9/16 but should i just hammer it on there if that is the correct size and go for it?What is the size of the oil drain plug on a 05 GMC truck?

Take your old drain plug off with vise grips or whatever you have, and go buy a new one at the dealer. Then, use the correct (15mm) wrench on it from now on.
if the 15 is too big then try a 14. keep trying until you find the right socket.
