2002-2003 Nissan Maxima, Does it Burn Oil?

I was thinking about getting this MAX because of the 3.5 engine that pushes out 255 HP.

Though i am a bit worried because i hear a lot about oil burning. Anybody here have any input?2002-2003 Nissan Maxima, Does it Burn Oil?
Tar %26amp; feather whoever told you that. No it doesn't burn oil, in fact its such a good motor that same 3.5 motor is used in several nissan vehicles, maxima, 350Z, I35, older pathfinders. The computers chip makes the difference in how the engine performs. Plus parts are hella easy to find. Only issue due to the high performance nature of the engine you replace alot of sensors %26amp; get a false check engine light warning alot. Mine is on right now, %26amp; I'm still spanking Type S Acura TL's.

Drive it to the MAX or go home!!!!!!!!!!!2002-2003 Nissan Maxima, Does it Burn Oil?
Don't act like 3.5L making 255 hp is a lot.

Those engines are very reliable, so long as you don't beat them up. However just like any other engine, if you blow a head gasket or a seal starts leaking (i.e. you let it overheat and something warps), you'll start seeing smoke.
I have a 2001 Maxima gle 3.5 it is a great car never uses any oil and has 121,000 miles. Just have the car looked at by a mechanic.
Are you kidding Nissan Maximas almost never use oil the engine is a good one. Just get the car checked out before purchase.
